I've been buying silver the past few months so not an expert but I'll chime in. If you're strictly in it for accumulating silver vs. collecting different coins or pieces, in my opinion, you'll want to buy generic rounds or bars. The coins have a higher premium. Look at the Spot price and try to get the most physical silver for the lowest overall price. I usually buy 1 oz. silver rounds, but often larger rounds and bars will be cheaper per oz. Some of the the best deals I've found are at SD Bullion and Money Metals.com. Look at their deals too. They will lower the price on overstocked items sometimes. If you pay with a check or e-check, it's cheaper than using a credit card or Paypal. Also, try to meet the minimum purchase to take advantage of free shipping. I found a lot of info on investing in silver at reddit on R/Silverbugs. Have fun!
