Satan, the accuser, works for G-d.
LOL. That's one of the funniest mistruths I've heard from a christian.
Even as Satan made Job's life Hell
satan wasn't 'given permission' or 'told to torture' Job like you say. my religious brethren believe the prince is allowed do such things when your christians lose faith in your god. You can lose faith in actions, but still appear faithful in words - and vice-versa.
Not sure I ever felt anything that "off" in my life.
I've experienced it too. Either their rituals for power (cannibalism, rape and sacrifice primarily) worked or you felt what a deer feels when there's a wolf close-by.
A child doesn't get that kind of motivation, though.
This is incorrect, children can be conditioned to feel or not feel most things adults can - think there aren't children who enjoy murder? sex? think again.
And I agree that it 'messes them up', sometimes I think about what my life would be like as a Buddhist, if I lived in a monastery and didn't have the parents I have.
I guess our foundation is that Abraham was not to sacrifice Isaac, and others did not get the memo.
throughout history ever conflict has had those on our side and those on yours. Adam was a victim tricked by Eve, who was tricked by lucifer - cain fell under the sway of the prince and murdered his brother, etc. etc.
