Wow, she's in for a bumpy surprise. NYC was unloveable and unlivable for the 7 years I was there. It's horribly expensive and all the apartments are really poorly maintained. There's also NOTHING to do there right now so I don't know why she'd want to move there... Is she in Manhattan or Brooklyn?
You're right by the way, everyone who isn't from there leaves within 5-8 years and is SO GRATEFUL to get out.
