meh, this isn't waking up people, everyone sees what they want to see, period. For instance here's comments from a left leaning friend on social media:

I've been watching the impeachment trial since it began. The impeachment managers made a very convincing case about Trump's incitement of the riot that occurred. Many of those heretofore unseen videos were jaw-dropping. I've listened all morning to the defense attorneys. Unfortunately for the former president, his defense fellows come across like the C team. But fortunately for 45, he will likely be acquitted, because the senators in his corner have already determined beforehand how they will vote. Two things that struck me this morning as I watched that lengthy video of various politicians screaming out the word "fight" in different contexts . . .

  1. None of those people in the video were screaming "FIGHT!" on the day of the electoral college vote count while standing on a platform just blocks away from the nation's capitol as the vote was actually taking place.
  1. If the president did not mean to incite a riot, then why, (in the name of Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Thoreau, and Nelson Mandela) as he watched the riot unfold for several hours on TV, did he not immediately call back his followers? If he truly was calling his mob to a peaceful protest, why was he not horrified by the result? In fact, it has been reported by eyewitnesses that the president was delighted by what happened - even gleeful.

I believe 100% that if Nancy Pelosi, Marco Rubio, Mitt Romney (etc.) was speaking at a rally and they called on their followers to "fight" for a certain cause, and then that rally turned into a riot where damage, injury, and death ensued - they would run screaming into the crowd "Stop! This is not what I meant!". Seriously - any decent person would do that. But Trump did not - even when his own vice president's life was in danger, not to mention all the others trapped inside the capitol building. It took him hours to take action, and even then it was a flaccid response. Anyway - we'll see how this thing goes. I can hardly wait to get past it so that our country can get on to all the very pressing and dire situations we're facing. May God bless our country! We need him now more than ever. Amen.

This is not a slam dunk and I'm not sure which way this will go

I watched Ted Cruz on FOX a couple of nights ago - a real snake in the grass, that one. This is not a slam dunk and I'm thinking impeachment will go through as planned.
