Are you talking about MAGA people hanging on the end of a rope, or the Dems/Deep State/MSM hanging on the end of a rope?
I definitely believe it's the latter. 80%+ of the military probably supports Trump, people in red states have the most weapons and the most natural resources, red states are generally in good economic health (even though red states have lower GDP per capita, they have much less debt), and most red states border each other. Don't forget natural barriers like the Missisippi River, Rocky Mountains and deserts as well. Best of all, blue states tend to have a big 'service economy' based on gov't, banking, IT and healthcare rather than manufacturing, resource extraction and farming.
Remember that the billion dollar U.S. army failed to defeat the ill-equipped, poor Vietcong 50 years ago. Same with Iraq and Cuba. It doesn't matter how many F-35's and M1 Abrams the blue states have. The red states will have more than enough of them.
If civil war were to break out, I would guess that the blue states would be cut off very easily from each other. They would become two separate countries: CA + OR + WA and CT + MA + VT + NY + NJ + MD + DE + VA + NC. The rest of the blue areas would essentially be islands: big cities and metro areas surrounded by a sea of red. Those cities would be cut off very easily from supplies/economic activity/reinforcements. Imagine how hard it is for CA, for example, to fly in supplies to Denver CO or Phoenix AZ.
If war broke out, I think the blue states might be able to conquer the Southeast and Midwest without too much difficulty, but once they hit the geographic barriers, it would be really hard. The most protected red states are probably UT, MT and ID.
