But yeah, the media's been sick for at least that long. My experiences have mostly been positive. I do have some experiences like OZ00's when I lived in a poor, majority black neighborhood in my early 20s. But at the same time, I also remember getting stopped by police riding my bike home from work in the same neighborhood because I was white, and "What was I doing here? It's dangerous." So...
I chalk a lot of this up to the pressure cooker that is poverty.
