This forum goes batshit over pediphilia, but it's all hate and little substance in this case I'm afraid.
First, we need to distinguish between blatant pedo and non-blatant. There's a HUGE difference between a 30 year old molesting a 6 year old, and an 18 year old dating a 16 year old.
There are countries where sex with 14 year olds is LEGAL. It isn't pedophilia in those countries, not legally anyway. In fact, we have a very long history of sex and pregnancy happening between 12-16. Anybody read the Bible...?
The way to address this isn't with knee jerk emotional responses like a bunch of leftards.
Look at the reality of the global situation. Look at the reality of human development. Identify a gold standard that we should strive for. Develop compelling arguments to support this standard.
Young people oftentimes want to be sexually active. I did. Many of my friends did. Having some adult come in and try tell me what to do with my body really just produced the opposite response from me.
We've got a lot of people with their heart in the right place but their heads stuck in this moral absolutism and anger.
