I was one of those people who blamed religion for a lot of the world's problems. Don't get me wrong, there are still some people out there who use their religion as an excuse to do terrible things to others, but even I have been starting to pay lip service to the idea that the world needs something good to believe in. The loss of Christ has led people to worship whatever else they can: government, corporations, narrow "acceptance" groups (LGBT, BLM, etc) and it's made the world worse.
