It's not "cognitive dissonance" though. If he'd said it was bad and people were dying, there'd be a never-ending shitstorm on every channel. It's optics. He has to avoid giving them anything they can use, at this point.
And, like I said, there's two ideas there. "but again, we have our freedoms ... I agree with that also" He's not just saying "oh it's great, go get it."
You do realize there's a narrative that the media is constantly presenting, right? The election was fair, there was no fraud, lockdowns are necessary, the vaccine is mandatory, covid denialism is on the rise, Qanons are white supremacists, etc etc etc. Right?
People standing up against that and coming back with facts doesn't equal "cognitive dissonance". More like, truth versus propaganda? Which is why there's so much censorship right now.
