I go maskless when I can. Some places I've been talked to an employee at Lidl after I already had most of my shopping done. I am sure most of them hate it too. I have a hard time hearing them thru the muffled mask.

If they politely ask for one, then I pull it from my pocket (obviously not a clean place to store it.) And let them see how dumb a mask looks. My mask says "This mask is as useless as our governor". I've gotten some positive comments when I have to wear the face diaper. I use it to keep my chin warm, if its "required" like at Costco.
