Q used plenty of idioms. It's no stretch to say Q intended to reference the collective's unconscious regarding birds singing in spring, or angelou's "Caged Bird". It IS a stretch that Q would point it out and expect us to take the "Yeah, but still... They sing in Winter too!" meaning. From what I've seen, when Q is obtuse, or wants us to think of ALL possible meaning, Q very deliberately says so. Q is smart and literate, but Q doesn't appear to be a pendantic asshole about it. ?

Over analysis is fine. Getting caught up in the weeds is something to be aware of.
