So you were partially correct about the Federal government, but missed the FEMA and CoG powers to run a true shadow government in the background.

The military have planned for our current situation for many years, and had the 4 years of the Trump administration to undo most of the damage that was done to the military by the Obama administration. This allowed them to "set the stage".

They are currently using the democrats to destroy the democrats, and the MSM to destroy the MSM. They are undoing decades of programming and propaganda in a relatively short time before they go public with the election fraud, pedophiles, etc. They are once again "setting the stage" for the great awakening, so that it is not too catastrophic for all the sheeple.

They don't want the awakening to crash the economy, lead to significant civil unrest, etc. That is probably the "cataclysmic event" they are trying to avoid.
