It's actually ancient fertility wise and we've been trying for decades. We had to get help and even with ivf - took 7 tries and lots of money. Right now my body feels old and broken. 3 months to go and I hope I can keep up with this child when she comes. The fertility meds really messed up my weight badly - most people don't have to do 7 cycles of retrieval because they get frozen embryos after 1 or 2 cycles and then they can try just implanting those without the serious drugs and retrieval operations. I put on 20 lbs each cycle from injectables and pregnancy losses. I would get 11 or so eggs each time which was great for my age but the quality was so bad I never had more than one normal egg by the day of implanting. 3 of those eggs out of 7 cycles were still bad quality as they were 8 week miscarriages and likely genetically off. We didn't have them tested before hand.
Also alot of those really old ones you see in the news are using donated eggs of younger women. Health insurance won't even partially cover ivf with your own eggs past 42 because of the genetic risks are so bad and the chances of implantation with your own eggs at that age is super low. <5% chance and that's with a genitcally tested normal egg.
They don't teach in their health Ed classes that it is actually alot harder after 28 years old. Your best years are 18-28. After that there is a sharp decline. In those best years a normal healthy couple still only has 25% chance of pregnancy any month which is fairly low. After that the chances of keeping the pregnancy are still sort of low until after week 13. But alot of women who aren't trying wouldn't even know they had a loss before their period. After 40 your chance every month is less than 5 percent and the miscarriage risk is very high due to egg quality being poor and a 1 in 25 chance of trisomy 13.
They need to stop telling kids to have a career first. It's rather evil. We need to push earlier marriages and children for women than maybe have programs for career helping after child rearing age is over. I know most people can't afford it that early because of how messed up our slave society is. We waited to be secure financially before we could do the ivf in my thirties. It probably would have been more helpful and less tries if I'd been able to do ivf In my 20s.
Long rant but I am thankful for this miracle at this time. I am going to Stay home and home school this little one and enjoy it because i have a good conservative man who can now afford us this luxury. I thank God daily for this blessing
