Makes sense!

A guy I know is a former teacher. Very educated man. He also spent over a decade working in anti-trafficking in S Africa. So you think he would have an open mind.

But...

  • He cannot accept that there is an evil cabal of people who traffic kids regularly.
  • He thinks q is “a dangerous distraction from the real problems”
  • He still says there is no credible evidence of election fraud
  • He has a severe case of TDS but is insulted at the suggestion
  • He doesn't see covid mandates as a violation of civil rights
  • He doesn't understand my refusal to wear a mask, either in terms of scientific validity (masks actually INCREASE transmission likelihood by collecting bacteria in a face diaper that one breathes in constantly) or its blatant symbolism of tyrannical control.
  • After I just sent him a long list of links to newly declas docs, his reply: “Lots going on but still waiting for definitive proof.”

I think you hit the nail on the head. Anyone who prides themselves on their intellect is going to resist anything that might challenge their self-regard as an “intellectual.”

I wondered why he wasn't even curious about all this. I am very curious by nature. A digger. Been down more rabbit holes than I can count. Not him. Zero interest in digging. Thinks I am a conspiracy theorist. Which I AM! Theorizing is where all hidden truths get uncovered and great discoveries start, right? But he didn't mean it literally. More as an insult.

Those of us who don't consider ourselves geniuses have a much easier time changing our views on things. Maybe WE are the geniuses after all!
