Hello. So I know this is probably counter to what you expect to hear but I personally do not think the vax is intentionally harmful. The reasons for the push are probably still evil but in my humble opinion I think they are the regular type of evil. 1) just greed having people taking vax that don't need vax = more money. 2) Another human rights infringement to global expectations of freedom and privacy. 3) They have to explain their lie somehow. I think your friends will be ok. I could be wrong so I would never encourage you to take it. I suppose we would have to wait and see.
Optics are indeed bad for Bill Gates to be attached to the funding of one of these vaccines because he is radical. However, I think that is all it is bad optics at this point name wealthy donors that aren't radical eugenicists, heh heh, yeah you are right it isn't funny...
I did just think of a good narrative to tell your friends as I actually think it is easily true: They (the developers of the vaccine and the governments distributing them) definitely either don't care or care very little if you die or are injured. The only thing they would care about is damaged reputation. There see if that has the ring of truth for them.
