Did anyone watch the video? The monkey is not playing games with it's mind. They fed it's neural responses into a machine learning system which is what is playing the video game. It's really pretty simple neural network training, it's just that it's using data from the monkey's brain. The monkey thinks it's playing the game since it trained the neural network with it's own responses and the movements are almost identical to it's new inputs. Not having a go at OP since it's the stupid youtube headline (and the video is still very interesting) but it's completely wrong. It's as if people are just mental pygmies who have to have everything over simplified to the point of it being wrong.
