What I think this is mostly about is getting a large base of "undocumented" bodies inside the US to use as slave labor, and even considerably worse human exploitation activities, all the way upto including people to harvest for organs.

That said this is also the Liberal left, who are notorious short-term thinkers. After all the illegal Latinos don't really start to swing politics until 30 years later when their US citizen kids start reaching prime political years, as we see the Cubans now pushing Florida into a deep red state.
