There is evidence that adrenochrome is linked to schizophrenia (likely causally) and causes hallucinogenic effects, acting in a similar manner to LSD. So it seems to cause both dissociation and hallucinations.

I haven't found any evidence of life extension from adrenochrome (that doesn't mean there isn't any, only that I haven't seen any), but there is substantial evidence of OTHER chemicals in young blood that are life extending, such as HGH agonists and other signaling molecules that increase regeneration and stimulate stem cell replication.

There is also evidence that adrenochrome withdrawal can cause very negative effects on the body, like withdrawal from any highly addictive substance. This can make someone look old if they don't have it.
