"Salvation isn’t guaranteed unless one dies a martyr, under the actual conditions of martyrdom."

Can you give me a verse to support this?

" living life strictly in accordance to God’s Law"

You have already failed that though.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:10-18 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.

Your good works are not seen as any form of payment. God only took one method of payment and that was the blood of His Son.

If it was living life strictly in accordance with Gods Law, who has ever done that? and why then did Jesus have to die?

"We remove mortal sin by one baptism and by the Sacrament of Confession."

Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

If what you say is true, what about the thief on the cross?

"The notion that people are saved by faith alone has been around only since Luther."

I literally gave you a verse that turns what you said here on it's head.

Here it is again.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.

By Grace = Something we do not deserve Been saved = Salvation/Not Going to hell Through Faith = the mechanism through which we are saved.

With more

Romans 3:28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Galatians 2:16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

Titus 3:5-8 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

"No church ever taught that prior."

Its all over the New Testament, as I just demonstrated.

"This doesn’t sound like we’re all going to heaven: Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, Nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind [homosexuals], nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God."

At no point did I make that statement.

John Chapter 6 covers how one is saved.

John 6:37-40 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

Paul reiterates this in Romans 8.

Romans 29-30 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

and Romans 9

Romans 9:11-23 though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls— she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”

As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.

You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory.

Pretty sure Luther wrote non of the above. I am not a Lutheran btw.
