They pay it off by getting the kids to be mules. Or the parents end up mules later on. Or their teenage daughters are forced into the sex industry, or the mothers, too. Sometimes the young boys, as well.

I've known a few illegals here in FL, and their stories of their journeys here are horrendous. The kind of stories that give people PTSD and lead to some of their behavior after they get here.

Most are great people. Respectful. The older ones hold the doors open for US, always bowing heads, genuine smiles when they see you, making a concerted effort to assimilate and be respectful and appreciative. It's some of the younger generations, Gen X and younger, that make it difficult for themselves and the rest of their community.
