I would've thought that the elite could have remained elite without having to go full Marxist. Maybe... it was never intended to go full Marxist. Trump however empowering the middle class could've pushed them this direction.

What if it was independent news/social discussion on the internet that pushed them to go full Marxist? They were/are losing their grip on the masses just because information is woefully hard to censor now. It looks like they are trying to tie it up but if they were doing a great job it wouldn't even be visable.
