If you do juice at home, you want to get a low-speed masticating-type juicer because it introduces very little to no heat during the juicing process vs. the traditional "grate and sluice" juicers that we're used to. The nutrient content of some plant matter is very heat sensitive and can be damaged by standard juicers, thus the need for a low-friction pressure system that can be engaged via a masticating auger.
