Edit: Backquotes generate the code element in the markup, but not sure how the pre element is generated, which is needed for not breaking the line. ?‍♂️

It's wrapped in code tags in the markup which don't break lines. A lot of markdown allows code blocks using backquotes, so let's try it out:
