This might bring some light to the situation. It's my perspective at this time. The system is corrupted, infected by a virus running human society (the all seeing a eye). The mainframe is recalling all NPCs that are compromised, for the purge. They will be taken down by EMP most likely ("cyber pandemic"> 3 days of darkness ?) disabling the nanites that will be running their desecrated vessels. The great awakenning is concerning those that come from outside to help those stuck inside. Hopefully we can start fixing the world soon cause I'm sick of it and running low on patience.
