It never occurred to me to worry about the expiry date on bleach because I'm used to only worrying about that for food.
I can 100% promote iodine tablets because I survived in Lhasa, Tibet for three months while effectively drinking iodine treated sewage and only getting sick a few times, which was probably caused by 1,000,000 other reasons other than my treated water. The only negative to using iodine to treat water is it can be expensive, so I'll explore your pool chlorine solution and thank you for the needful education!
