Yep, this is important and a shooter must ALWAYS inspect the ammo before it goes into the clip or magazine. BTW, be very wary about off-brand or "retrograde" ammo from shit-hole countries. SpecOps and CIA have had lots of success in packing the odd AK-47 family of ammo with a dot of Semtex then re-seating the bullet into the cartridge. There's a great video of a goat fucker shooting his AK-47 and after a few rounds it explodes, his head went over there, and weapon was completely blown apart -- not a mistake of overloading the powder charge either. We did that in Vietnam, only used TNT in ammo the dinks would pick up that laid around after a firefight. Yep, took their slope, gook, zipper-heads right off.
