My daughter's started after a bad sunburn, she had normal pigmentation before that, after that summer though, where ever she had sunburn stayed white, did not tan and it spread down to her back. Some people, will get it where ever their skin rubs, like armpits, inside of elbows and back of knees, others will be all over body, mostly where they have had sunburns in life, it seems.
