I have a pet theory that virginity is the key to civilization.

1. God Himself is a virgin

2. Jesus never took a wife or had relations

3. Blessed Mary is a Virgin and only such virginal purity could the Blessed Lord find a fitting dwelling

4. The pagan Roman Republic had the vestal virgins and it became a foundation stone in western civilization. This was fairly unique to the ancient world and I think why God allowed them to become so powerful and succeed, because of the island of purity that was maintained in the otherwise degenerate nation.

5. Christians were known for their celibates and ascetics. The celibate and virginal monks helped to transform Europe into the powerhouse it is / was.

6. Communistic, atheistic, and hedonistic cultures are known for their depravity and promiscuity. The results speak for themselves: Soviet Union, disease, child-sex trafficking, sodomy, revolution, death. The end result is destruction.
