I like this theory, however the Khazarians weren't more than a handful of roaming nomads until about 1300 years ago, whereas the Jewish reputation for being cruel usury bankers (think the Cleansing of the Temple from the New Testament) and the most exiled people in human history was well established more than a millennium before then.

There should be a distinct historic period when Jewish culture was changed and their reputation was ruined by Khazarian infiltration, but I've found no evidence of that.

I've heard the exact same argument presented for Jesuits infiltrating Judaism and ruining their reputation, however the Jesuits were founded less than 500 years ago.
