Texan here and I have worked for a Canada-based company for a very long time. I’m fond of all of Canada except for the Quebecois. They can be short and abrasive. They’re not necessarily bad people, but I think they’re full of themselves. Ring any bells?
My dad was from Arkansas. You learned “sir” and “ma’am” or else. I’ve always done it, but mostly enjoy it because it is polite; especially as a Texan. Race doesn’t matter. Do it enough and you stop seeing color. (edit: you still see color, you don't see race)
