We have over 5000 copies of manuscripts from the first century of the New testament and over 40,000 manuscripts from the old testament. The jews used to seal these manuscripts in pottery then bury them for safe keeping. We've been able to date the pottery back to the time they were written. Pottery dating is the most accurate dating system we have.
