I read a book when I was in high school (not for school, just for personal entertainment) called Black Sun or something of the like. I was about Die Glocke, Nazi research, DARPA operatives etc. The Bell (in the book) was a reality manipulation device. It wasn't a UFO, it was something much more profoundly powerful.
