I've been thinking that systems to keep your garden immune to theft will become a large market. I'm not sure how it would be done, but any garden known to the neighborhood would be raided on a regular basis as soon as shortages kicked in. Electric fence? Large dogs? Motion detectors? Lasers? Dog mounted lasers?
