The American system is not set up for the People to be a branch of government.

The People are NOT the government, nor part of it (i.e. a branch).

The People are ABOVE the government. The government is the servant of the people.

I frequently see/hear people say that the People are "part of government," or that "we are the government."

This is WRONG, and it is a dangerous mindset.

The individuals who work in government are PUBLIC SERVANTS of the People.

None of us should ever forget the correct hierarchy. The previous generations continually forgetting this hierarchy is the #1 reason we have devolved into the state that things are in today.
