I’ve been exasperated enough to think about giving up before, but nothing happens if you give up. This isn’t something you can walk away from. You can’t just change the channel and see what else is on.

Sure you can stop following the goings on, I guess, but one way or another, they WILL happen. So the only thing you’re giving up is the ability to see the train coming, and just assume you can cross the tracks.
