I expect a shit ton of th Officer ranks to resign in protest, along with anyone who is past the 20 yr mark. Upper enlisted ranks, E-7 to E-9 who are over 20 can resign and leave without finishing out their current enlistment contracts. I know a few Navy Senior Chiefs and Master Chiefs, along with some USMC 1st Sergeants and a couple Master Gunnery Sergeants who have told me they're leaving if this goes any further. The E-6 and below ranks are screwed, though. Along with any Junior Officers who don't want to pay back their education bonuses.
Also, every article I've read on the subject says Austin "could," "might," it "may." None of it is set in stone yet.
