You could be right. Xi is at odds with the current CCP (i.e., the kids of the original CCP) and then George Soros writes an op-ed against him... He's also been the face of the aggressive foreign policy movement that it (together with Trump's efforts) revealed the corruption (i.e., bribes) between politicians all over the world and China, which has been under the radar for most people until now. I know in January 2020 there were theorists that believed CCP released covid and not Xi. And for my home country of Taiwan, he's antagonized Taiwan in such a comical villain type of way that it's weakened the pro-China and pro-unification factions of Taiwan for the past half decade or so. Hard to conclude anything these days, but at least we can say Xi is at the forefront and not one of the unidentified people pulling strings in the background.
