Thank you, very informative. Was re-baptized at age 33, after being brought up catholic. Thank God! This whole Vatican thing sickens me out of all that I have heard, read and researched.
I remember that I knew in 2nd grade catholic school, that my child would never be catholic. To this day, could not tell you the reason I felt that way at such a young age. I did not like the nuns, they creeped me out. In 4th grade, my mom took me to a very staunched catholic doctor. To my moms surprise, he said, “Get this child out of catholic school, and put her in public, as she is having a nervous breakdown and will have to put her on meds!” I had cried every day from 1st to 4th grade. In 5th grade public school, I blossomed, never cried another day and for the first time, I loved school!
When my son was born, I still felt the need to have him baptized as a baby, as I wanted to make sure he went to heaven. (some things drilled into you, stick) it was a Christian church. He never knew my age when I was baptized. I was attending a Methodist church to see a niece being baptized at age 8. To my surprise, next my son comes out, at age 33 or be baptized. When asked what his decision was to be baptized now, he said “My mom always told me, to put God first in everything you do, it just took me a little bit longer to realize what she meant.” With tears streaming down my face, I was one proud mom!
So this whole Vatican thing has opened my eyes to so much. Thank you again for the post and links.
