Ever read the Book of Job? As a test of Job's faith, God allowed Satan to take away everything from Job, his sons and daughters, his possessions, his livelihood and his health, and spared only his life. Three friends came to see him to mourn with him, and they sat for seven days and seven nights without saying a word.
Finally, Job in his despair wished that he had never been born and brought out many desperate complaints, all the while maintaining his innocence (for he was blameless) and begging for God's answer. His three friends, thinking his complaints blasphemous, began arguing against him, accusing him that all his misfortunes might have been God's punishment for his sins, even though they did not know what sins he may have committed, and he did not commit any. Who were they to judge anyway? Some comfort they are!
Then a fourth witness, Elihu, heard enough and rebuked them all in turn, because he had been expecting wisdom from all of them as they were older but heard non of it. He rebuked them for presuming the greatness of God and for "multiplying words they did not even understand". Then God spoke and rebuked Job for not knowing the ways of the Lord and his great works, and Job repented: then He rebuked the three friends for not speaking of God what is right.
Well, can you not see that you are like those friends in some way? Some comfort you are as frens!
