The weirdest thing happened to me the day before 9/11/2001. I didn't tell this to many people over the years but reading your post brought it back. I was sitting at my desk, in my work office. Can't remember the exact time but it was sometime before noon CST. As I was concentrating on some work issue my desk phone rang. I answered, although I was not expecting a call on that number (I was a new hire in a very small office of 3-4 people). To my surprise it was a 911 operator who said they just received a call from my desk number and asked what was my emergency. I was shocked for a moment and tried to explain I never called 911 from my desk phone. She insisted that they got a call from my exact number moments ago but there was dead air and the call dropped after 10 seconds. I'd been sitting at my desk for at least an hour. I explained again that I had no idea what was happening, that everything was fine in the office and it is impossible that someone called 911 from my desk phone. We hung up, and didn't give it too much thought for the rest of the day. The next morning, I was watching the attacks happen on TV. Crazy.
BTW, I also see 1:11 or 11:11 a lot.
