I went with Tutanota over Protonmail. Based out of Germany. I really appreciate that they are taking extra steps to protect user privacy, like building their own anti-DDoS system instead of using Cloudflare (which requires sharing security certificates). https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/ddos-attack-update/

The Reddit forum for Proton was completely littered with bad experiences of people getting banned and locked out of their accounts. Then I looked closely into Protonmail and saw that they had a lot of partnerships with far left orgs like Amnesty International, and were funded by a bunch of huge lefist orgs and globalist companies. To top it off, it's based in Geneva Switzerland, which is basically the central hub of the New World Order. One user had complained about getting banned for spam, and I remember the moderator response (an employee) made it sound like Proton was sending the emails off to one of its 3rd party partners who was able to read the contents of the mail. Lots of bad vibes.

Tutanota isn't as good, but I trust it more. I hate the default address ([email protected]), but paid accounts get a @tuta.io address which is way easier to remember and read off to people.
