If you're actually eating pounds of uncooked broccoli and kale each day (which is what you'd need to do in order to develop hypothyroidism), you're probably mentally ill.

And, true to form, the person who provided the information the article was based on writes for the New York Times and is indeed mentally ill based on her blog.

She drank so many vegetable smoothies she developed five cavities and hypothyroidism.

Broccoli is just fine in the amounts a normal person would eat. If you start eating things because you think they're healthy without researching the principles of health and nutrition, you'll probably overdo it. Everything in moderation except the death jabs and processed foods (man finds a way to fuck everything up).
