I did a lot of research on this last year and I even picked a phone model, but never purchased it and now forget which one I picked!
However, you need to know that many non-smart phones are still somewhat smart. Most of the modern phones run KaiOS, which has partnered with Mozilla, Facebook, and Google.
Some Nokia phones, as I recall, run their own brand of OS. However, the Nokia phone that has the features I want (namely 4g hotspot) is not compatible with the bands in the USA.
So as much as I want to get rid of my smartphone (and smart TV, etc.) I cannot find a phone that satisfies my needs and does not run a smart OS. I don't want to be on Android, iOS, or KaiOS.
I miss my J2ME phones.
