I have been in the medical field for 35 years. I have taken care of thousands of septic patients. Sepsis is not something to laugh at. It can be harmless if caught early and you know the source of infection. However, sepsis can kill you and it can be the most agonizing death imaginable.

If you develop Adult Respiratory Distress syndrome (ARDS) from your sepsis, and it is common, it is basically a death sentence. You will be intubated, placed on a ventilator, your oxygenation will be compromised. The alveolar / capillary membrane in your lung will thicken and /or increase the permeability, oxygen will not cross the membrane because of the fluid leaking in to the lungs. In response we will crank up the positive end expiratory pressure(PEEP) to 20-25. This pressure in your lungs can cause a pneumothorax, your entire body gets generalized edema, your scrotum swells up to the size of a basket ball, you are leaking fluid from every orifice in your body before you die.

A word to the wise, these days we live in, it seems to me, they seem like the the prophesies from the Bible. We must remember our conduct if we are to be accepted in to the Kingdom of Heaven.

I struggle with my thoughts because I want to wish this agonizing death upon him. However, Jesus would ask us to pray for him. I see this time we are living through as a test of our faith. While we struggle with every hardship they have thrown at us, as much as we collect disdain for these people, we must forgive them. We are better than them. Jesus said while on the cross, "Father please forgive them, they know not what they do".

If you wish to be accepted in to the kingdom of Heaven, you have to be better than them and project empathy when its unexpected. I wanted this post to be about sepsis and somehow it turned in to a religious lesson and I just went with it.

I worry about the well intentioned people on this page and I want you to remember what morals are expected by the almighty. We can not harbor hate. Fight them to the finish but forgive them when you are done.

Stay safe my frens!!!

God bless you!!!
