In my limited understanding, it was my thinking that one never test positive for Covid-19 disease. Covid is marked by symptoms that are result of infection with the virus Sars-CoV2. I could be wrong though. If the virus is not isolated, then only way a test can detect Sars-CoV2 if antibodies exist. I think this applied to HIV too, they can only measure for antibodies.
