California pede here, I heard on a local talk radio show that new regulations in CA require trucks and their engines to be less than 10 years old to operate at ports. To "cut down on pollution". Many trucks are older than 10 years as it's cheaper to fix them than to buy a new one. Not uncommon to have 20+ year old trucks with millions of miles on them. Many owner-operators can't afford to buy new trucks.

Add to that a truckers union strike against the vaccine, and a new CA regulation requiring drivers to be at least 21 years old.

This is a manufactured crisis.
