Most of the airborne infectious particles would be riding on respiratory droplets which are the size of a planet compared to an individual molecule. From my studies up to 300 individual particles of virus are safe for your immune system to handle every day. So I am happy to use a mask to eliminate respiratory droplets which would carry millions of times more virus than individual particles. We are not talking here about the simplest procedure masks, but a properly modified set up made to reduce side leakage.
