If the SIL was familiar with the ECMO treatments, she might be open to this as a way to "head off the problem before it needs hospitalization" status. On a personal note, it worked for me, as I heard about it before ivermectin early last year. I was asthmatic as a child, and at the time I did this treatment (April 2020) my oxygen was low, and this cleared it up surprisingly quickly. With bronchitis he might already have a nebulizer at home.
