The public would be shocked to find out exactly how much of medicine we are guessing at - in reality pretty much all of it is a crap shoot. Carpet bombing your lungs sounds about right. Throw everything but the kitchen sink at it hoping to save himself from a lawsuit. But, he did manage to get another opinion over your case. There was something that still didn't set right with him so he got the consult. That was probably a good thing. The treatment, maybe not so much - but since there was no time to culture, he threw everything at it trying to cover the bases and his ass. So sad to hear you are still suffering the effects of the treatment. Sometimes the cure is worse than the illness. Just to let you know, all this hubbub about Covid has caused us to take another look at supplements out there. The NAC people are taking for Covid has effects in the lungs. As a precursor to glutathione, which is a super antioxidant, it also has its own antioxidant capabilities. I have my mother taking it just as a precaution because she has weak lungs. It might be worth looking into.

Your experience sounds about right. I too am left with lingering effects due to medical procedures. Although, mine was a trade off due to what I was facing. I was hit by a drunk driver that messed my back up and set off a vascular shunt in my right forearm. The procedures I had to endure to control the situation were experimental but I really did not have any other options at the time. If they didn't get it under control, I was looking at amputation or severe disability. It saved my arm, but all the iodine contrast medium they used destroyed my thyroid and set off a chain reaction that left me with chronic fatigue. After years of investigating my own condition, it is sad to know that most of my lingering problems could have been avoided if they had just checked my iodine levels before giving me the contrast medium. I found some journal articles in JAMA and NEJM that indicated that thyroid disease can be triggered from contrast medium. Then I learned from an iodine expert that to induce autoimmune thyroid in lab animals, first they must deplete iodine from the body. How many people have been affected because of low iodine levels? Truth be known, I think it is even more of an epidemic than D3 deficiency. There are all kinds of halides in our environment, like fluoride, bromines, and chlorines, that compete with iodine. In addition, most people do not get adequate iodine in the diet. Don't think for one minute that the evil elements behind our current situation have not spent years setting the stage for this by creating toxicity and deficiency states in the population. For a country like the US, our population's health rivals that of a third world nation in many respects.

Anyway, sorry you had to experience suffering just to get better. Medicine is not a perfect science by any means, and it is populated by egos bigger than the state of Texas. It has been nice chatting with you. Good luck.
