Our old community was a barrier beach island. Pipes constantly collapsed. When Superstorm Sandy blew through they shut the intake valves on the island and one on the mainland across the bay. Everything was flooded with a toxic mix of chemicals and sewage sludge. I found a turd in a shoe holder. Now the plan is to run a sewage line through an abandoned water main under a main thoroughfare out to the ocean. What could possibly go wrong?
